Möte mellan gammal och ny high-tech
Lokalerna på Gärdet i Stockholm som byggdes för Konstfack är från mitten av 1950-talet. De är mycket karaktäristiska, sin tids ”high-tech” med en curtain wall-fasad efter amerikansk förebild, där fasadmaterialet hänger som en gardin framför byggnadens stomme. Vi har kompletterat med enkla och tydliga volymer till en modern arbetsplats åt Naturvårdsverket.
Byggnaderna var kulturminnesmärkta – ”grönklassade”– på grund av den unika fasadstrukturen. Vi gjorde en omtolkning av dåtidens högteknologiska fasad. De nya fasaderna är grafiska glasfasader i strikta moduler med tunna, ljusa aluminiumprofiler och svarta plåtfasader i sandwichkonstruktion.
